Diani Beach travel guide

Kenya's most celebrated coastline : white sand, coral reefs, and a laid-back beach-town pace, a short flight from Nairobi.

Overview

Where to go

Diani main beach

The main stretch calm, reef-protected water, ideal for swimming.

Colobus Conservation

A small reserve protecting the endangered Angolan colobus monkey.

Wasini Island & dolphin tours

Day trips further south for snorkelling and dolphin watching.

Kite-surfing at Galu Beach

Consistent winds make the stretch south of Diani a kite-surfing hotspot, especially Dec–Feb.

Getting around

Most resorts are spread along the beach road, and tuk-tuks are a common, cheap way to get between them. If you're planning day trips further out (Shimba Hills, Wasini Island), hiring a car or arranging a driver for the day is the more practical option.
